Does Chevy Offer an Extended Warranty Plan?

Yes. Chevrolet offers extended protection through the official Chevrolet Protection Plan. This plan is a Vehicle Service Contract (VSC) that extends coverage on repairs beyond the standard factory warranty period, giving drivers in Hertford peace of mind.

The Chevrolet Protection Plan offers three tiers of coverage—Powertrain, Silver, and Platinum—that cover increasing numbers of parts. You can often bundle the Chevrolet extended warranty price into the financing costs of your vehicle, making it a simple part of your regular payment.

Standard Chevrolet Limited Warranties

Every new Chevrolet already comes with the following standard coverage from the date of purchase:

  • Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty: Three Years or 36,000 Miles
    • Covers the entire vehicle for repairs (including parts and labor) to correct material or workmanship defects.
    • Includes coverage for tires against defects in materials or workmanship.
    • Towing to the nearest authorized dealership for warranty repairs is covered.
  • Powertrain Limited Warranty: Five Years or 60,000 Miles
    • Covers repair or replacement of the engine, transmission, and drive systems due to material or workmanship defects.

Chevrolet Protection Plan (Extended Warranty) Tiers

The Chevrolet Protection Plan offers three increasing levels of mechanical protection. All plans cover parts and labor.

1. Powertrain Protection Plan (Basic Coverage)

This plan offers basic coverage for your vehicle’s most essential components:

  • Engine
  • Transmission
  • Drive Axles
  • Hybrid/Electric Components

2. Silver Protection Plan (Mid-Level Coverage)

  • Front & Rear Suspension
  • Climate Control
  • Electrical
  • Steering
  • Brakes

3. Platinum Protection Plan (Most Comprehensive Coverage)

This plan includes everything from the Powertrain and Silver Plans, providing the most comprehensive coverage:

  • High Tech Components
  • Audio and Navigation Systems

Can I Add a Chevy Extended Warranty After the Purchase Date?

Yes, you can add a Chevrolet Protection Plan after the initial vehicle purchase date. You must generally do so within eight years of purchase or before your odometer reaches 100,000 miles.

Additional Protection Options

Aside from the core Chevrolet Protection Plan, you should be aware of these additional optional protection products:

  • GAP Coverage: Waives the difference between what you owe on your vehicle and what the insurance company pays if your vehicle is totaled.
  • Pre-Paid Maintenance: Covers the cost of future scheduled maintenance (like oil changes and tire rotations) at today’s prices.
  • Tire & Wheel Protection: Provides coverage for tire and wheel damage caused by road hazards.
  • EV Protection Plan: Specialized extended protection for electric vehicle components.

Plan Flexibility:

  • The Protection Plan is transferable if you sell your vehicle to a private party, adding resale value.
  • You can cancel the protection plan at any time, subject to the terms in your contract.
